Companies in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu: an overview
Sriperumbudur is an industrial town in Kancheepuram district, west of Chennai along the Chennai–Bengaluru national highway. The state industrial agency SIPCOT runs two neighbouring estates here, the Sriperumbudur Industrial Park & SEZ and the Irungattukottai Industrial Park. Its records give 1998 as the starting year for both. Irungattukottai is the automotive end of the cluster. SIPCOT says the park has more than 250 industries and roughly 50,000 jobs, and it names Hyundai Motor India, Mobis India, Schwing Stetter India and Hwashin Automotive among its flagship units.
