Semiconductor Companies in Bangalore: an overview
Bengaluru is home to some of the largest chip design centres that global semiconductor firms run outside their home countries. AMD's Technostar campus, inaugurated in November 2023, covers about 500,000 sq ft and is the company's largest design centre worldwide. Intel's design work is based on a 44-acre campus on Sarjapur Ring Road, and Arm describes its Bagmane Constellation office as its third-largest site globally.
The cluster keeps expanding. Synopsys marked 30 years in India by opening a 455,000 sq ft R&D facility at Bagmane Capital. Infineon is merging its two city sites into a 630,000 sq ft campus at Bagmane Solarium Tech Park that is designed for up to 4,500 people. Microchip bought 1.72 lakh sq ft in Whitefield's EPIP Zone, and Marvell, which has worked in Bengaluru since 2006, has announced a new wing there as part of a $250 million India investment.
Many of these offices sit along the Outer Ring Road corridor, including Texas Instruments at Bagmane Tech Park, Samsung's semiconductor research centre at Bagmane Goldstone, Micron at Cessna Business Park and MediaTek at RMZ Ecoworld. Renesas says its Bengaluru office is now its largest site in India. Indian firms also have a presence: design-services companies such as Tessolve and Mirafra, fabless startup Signalchip, and L&T's semiconductor arm at L&T Tech Park on Bellary Road.
