Product Based Companies in Bangalore: an overview
Bengaluru is the main Indian base for the in-house engineering centres that global companies run. The Nasscom-Zinnov GCC Landscape 2026 report counts 2,117 global capability centres in India, operating 3,728 units, as of FY2026. More than 1,080 of those units are in Bengaluru, which is over 29% of the national total, and the city holds more than a third of India's GCC workforce. Zinnov notes that Texas Instruments opened an engineering centre in the city in 1985, one of the first global firms to move core work to India. SAP has run SAP Labs India since 1998 and calls it its second-largest development hub worldwide.
Most of the global product centres on this list are in the east of the city, along the Outer Ring Road and in Whitefield and Mahadevapura. Cisco is at Cessna Business Park, Salesforce is at Embassy Golf Links, Intuit is on the EcoSpace campus in Bellandur and Atlassian is at Divyasree Greens in Chalaghatta. Google lists three Bengaluru offices: Ananta in Mahadevapura, its Kyoto campus at Bagmane Capital Park, and a site on Old Madras Road. SAP Labs India has a campus in Whitefield's EPIP Zone, an office at RMZ NXT and an innovation park at Devanahalli, near the airport.
Many Indian product companies are also based in Bengaluru. Startup Genome ranks the Bengaluru-Karnataka ecosystem 15th in the world and counts 30 active unicorns and 304 exits from 2021 to 2025. Several of the city's consumer and fintech platforms are now public: Swiggy listed on the NSE in November 2024, Groww and Capillary Technologies in November 2025, and Meesho in December 2025. Flipkart, PhonePe, Razorpay and Zerodha remain private; Zerodha's founder started it without outside funding in 2010. Tally Solutions keeps its head office on Hosur Main Road, and Postman, founded in Bengaluru, now has its headquarters in San Francisco.
