IT Companies in Chandigarh: an overview
Chandigarh's main IT address is the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park at Kishangarh. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh inaugurated it in September 2005, and The Tribune reported it then as the first IT park in India with Special Economic Zone status. The UT Administration acquired 123 acres for the first phase and another 267 acres in 2004 for the second. A third phase of about 272 acres stalled when the Supreme Court quashed that land acquisition in October 2012.
Growth inside the park was slower than planned. A Tribune review in 2011 found that only seven of the companies allotted land had started operations there, among them Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Bharti Airtel and DLF's IT campus. Infosys still lists Plot 1 of the park as its Chandigarh centre, and Tech Mahindra is on Plot 23 in Phase II. Netsmartz and bebo Technologies have their own plots in the park. The Noida SEZ office lists two Chandigarh Administration zones, one for electronics and IT/ITES and one for IT/ITES.
Several of the companies below are across the boundary in Mohali (SAS Nagar), in Punjab. Infosys runs a development centre in IT City, Sector 83-A, and in March 2026 it broke ground there on a new block of about 350,000 sq ft that will seat around 3,000 people. Sector 83 Alpha also has offices of Appinventiv and Code Brew Labs. The industrial area's Phases VIII and VIII-B house IDS Infotech, Antier, Zapbuild and Bluebash. The SEZ list also includes an IT zone in Mohali developed by Quarkcity India.
