IT Companies in Trichy: an overview
Tiruchirappalli's organised IT sector is built around the ELCOT IT Park at Navalpattu, on the city's south-eastern edge. ELCOT is the Tamil Nadu government's electronics corporation, and it runs similar IT special economic zones in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Salem and Hosur. State records put the Navalpattu site at 147.61 acres, of which 123.23 acres are SEZ land. More than 110 acres are still offered to IT and ITES firms on 99-year leases.
The park was sanctioned in 2010. Its first ELCOT building, an administrative-cum-IT block of 59,960 sq ft, is fully let. The state IT department's 2024-25 policy note lists SPI Technologies (now Straive), iLink Systems, Vuram, GI Tech Gaming, VDart and VR Della among its occupants and puts direct jobs in the building at about 1,380. A second IT tower of about 1.16 lakh sq ft, built for Rs 59.57 crore, was opened on 17 February 2024. Inside the SEZ, land has been leased to Esskay Design & Structures (3 acres) and iLink Multitech Solutions (2 acres).
Most other IT and back-office employers rent space in the city. Capgemini has worked in Tiruchirappalli since 2012 and runs two centres about 2 km apart, VRN Centre (opened 2014) and Muthiah Towers (2020). Firstsource and the UK payroll-software firm Accentra Technologies have offices in Cantonment, VDart runs a global capability centre at Mannarpuram, and Puducherry-based Integra Software Services opened a Thillai Nagar office in March 2026. Separately, Tidel Park Ltd, a TIDCO-ELCOT joint venture, tendered a Rs 315.2 crore, 5.5 lakh sq ft IT building at Panjapur.
