IT Companies in Noida: an overview
Noida is administered by the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, which works under Uttar Pradesh's Industrial Area Development Act of 1976. The city's oldest export enclave is the Noida Special Economic Zone, which the central government set up in 1985 on a 310-acre site in Noida Phase-II. It began as the Noida Export Processing Zone, one of seven such zones in India, and became an SEZ in 2000. Tech Mahindra and Capgemini both list offices on plots inside it.
Many of the large IT campuses are in sectors numbered from 125 to 144. The Noida SEZ office lists HCLTech's own zone at Plot 3A, Sector 126, where the company has its headquarters, and a Seaview Developers zone in Sector 135 that houses Cognizant and Sopra Steria. Infosys has floors in Sector 132 on the Greater Noida Expressway, IndiaMART and Birlasoft share a business park in Sector 135, and TO THE NEW is in NSL Techzone, Sector 144. Sectors 60, 62 and 64 host Nucleus Software's head office and several Tech Mahindra offices.
Noida also has product and research centres. Samsung says its R&D Institute in Noida, started in 2007, owns software development for major mobile models launched across several regions. Info Edge, which runs Naukri, has its corporate office in Sector 132. Greater Noida, next door, has its own IT zones: Wipro's Knowledge Park campus is on the SEZ list, as is the Tech Zone plot where Coforge, formerly NIIT Technologies, has its head office. Uttar Pradesh's investment agency counts 12 IT/ITeS SEZs in the state and promotes the sector through its IT and ITeS Policy 2022.
