Tech Companies in Los Angeles: an overview
Lightcast and Bureau of Labor Statistics data, as published in the Dallas Regional Chamber's 2026 guide, put high-tech employment in the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim metro at 356,212 in 2025. That is the third-highest total among US metros, after New York and Washington. The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) puts the county's 2024 GDP at more than $886 billion and says that, as a country, it would rank among the 20 largest economies in the world. LAEDC describes aerospace, defense and space as a signature strength of the region.
Consumer internet and software companies cluster on the Westside. Snap's filings list 3000 31st St. in Santa Monica, and ZipRecruiter, GoodRx and Cornerstone OnDemand are also headquartered in that city, as are Activision Blizzard and Activision Publishing. Google has offices at 340 Main St. in Venice and in Playa Vista. Grindr is in West Hollywood, and Dave lists S. Cochran Ave. in Los Angeles. Riot Games, the maker of League of Legends, has its headquarters in Los Angeles. Further inland, ServiceTitan is on N. Brand Blvd. in Glendale and BlackLine is in Woodland Hills.
Space companies form a second group in the South Bay and Long Beach. SpaceX, which listed on Nasdaq in June 2026, now gives 1 Rocket Road in Starbase, Texas, as its headquarters, while its prospectus still describes a facility in Hawthorne, California. Rocket Lab's headquarters is on McGowen St. in Long Beach, and Relativity Space builds its Terran R rocket at a Long Beach headquarters it calls The Wormhole. Internet Brands, which runs online health, dental, legal and automotive brands, is based in El Segundo.
